The first three ex libris were made by the Artist for himself. With small
differences, they all bear the Arms of the medieval Counts of Vila Real,
a branch of the medieval lineage of the Meneses, with the Arms of
Couceiro in base. The coloured bookplate also bears the crest used by the
artist's ancestor D. Pedro de Meneses, Count of Vila Real.
